Not really good for leather rivets

This is a great kit for fixing things around the house, there are so many types of fasteners to choose from. Unfortunately the clasps are not as secure as I expected. The very first thing I fixed with this kit was a belt buckle on a multi tool my daughter gave me for Father's Day a few years ago. In addition, the multifunction tool is very practical. , it obviously means a lot to me, but it's very bulky and awkward to carry in my pocket, so I was happy to be able to clip it back to my belt. Well my excitement was short lived, unfortunately these knobs come loose at the slightest breeze, I just can't trust them with my multi tool or anything I can't afford to lose. As for the knobs, again I'm looking for a more secure latch. If you made a keychain out of these buttons, I'm afraid you'll probably lose them. I would only recommend these buttons for jewelry or anything that doesn't require a lot of force to open. On the other hand, rivets and screw rivets give me some confidence and I would definitely use them on a leather keychain, belt or bag once fastened are , they won't go anywhere. Knobs snap into place, this set makes a great starter kit. Another reviewer complained that this set is too complicated and can't figure out what's what. I'm sorry but if you can't understand this set I didn't know what to tell you otherwise you might be better off paying someone to do your project instead. There are pictures here to show you exactly what is included in the kit, but even without pictures it speaks for itself. The choice is yours: make a rivet, a sleeve or a snap. Everything is two parts except of course the locking button which is four parts (two parts sandwiched between each layer of what you want to connect). Just look at the locking button on something you already have, it really isn't that hard. I had the kids take the kit apart and put each piece back together to limit trying to dig up those tiny pieces with my sausage fingers, each piece now connected to its counterpart. Take a picture of what the kit looks like when everything is disassembled and reassembled. Maybe it makes more sense for people confused by this kit. Many Thanks. UPDATE ********** ****************** Yes the rivets are the lifesaver of this kit, I used them to attach the case to it one of my multimeters. For some reason the geniuses who designed my multimeter's case squeaked when they attacked the clip with glue, even though the clip obviously had holes for some kind of fastener. It was a tight press to set the rivets, but I used needle nose pliers to press the rivets in place. The pliers left a nice waffle pattern on the rivets and my multimeter is well protected when I carry it in my pocket. managed to build a strong bond. I even tried deforming the fastener's mating surface to get a better grip, but to no avail. I have bought the larger clasps used for boat trunks and heavy coats and these clasps have an amazing hold. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with these clasps as I can't make a connection that I'm comfortable with, or are these clasps designed to be easily loosened? My new buttons curl exactly like this and I am very happy with it. Maybe the only issue with these knobs is me, I'm just expecting too much from the knobs in this kit. The rivets and bushings in this kit are my favorites although I would say they are worth the price alone, the fasteners are not so much, I will let you know if I find anything to use button fasteners on. Many Thanks. Update so I've had this kit for a while and I'm happy to report I've found many uses for grommets and rivets. I've repaired backpacks, camera straps, wallets and a few other things here and there that I would have otherwise just thrown away and bought again. this kit again as I already have exactly what I'm getting. Thanks.
