I needed a ceiling mount for a touchscreen monitor and wanted it to be strong and not just hold the monitor/TV. I bought another arm at half price first - and yes it held the monitor but it was impossible to interact with, couldn't be tightened to fit securely, this one can. It's a simple build, positions are quite flexible, the fact that there are 2 screws per connection point means you can tighten them to eliminate any play. Yes, tightening the screws compresses the tubes, fact is that I agree, fact is that the lever in the base has enough turning movement after I loosened the bottom screw, it was too tight from the factory , and it has plenty up to occasion. I can stand next to and interact with a touchscreen monitor without it rocking back and forth, very satisfied, disappointed I spent $30 on a useless mount I originally bought and can't return it.
