Great price for a budget board.

I chose MSI Gaming Plus to upgrade my PC to an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X after running an AMD FX 8350 Black Edition for 5 years (which sadly was heavily influenced by a lemon from a gigabyte board). I didn't want to waste my arms and legs trying to upgrade on a budget, but I needed consistent performance, especially for VR. So far, Gaming Plus has worked great. Everything works fine and installation was a breeze once I realized I didn't need the extra 4-pin power connector to power the CPU, only 8-pin (my PSU only had 8, not 8+4 ). ). The BIOS is amazing - easy to set up and the XMP profile came in handy for setting up my 16GB (2x8) G.Skill RipJaws DDR4 3000 RAM. which had an unreliable USB bus (among other problems). Also, my Samsung Evo 960 (250GB) is lightning fast, just like everything else. There's no overheating out of the box or increased core frequencies, and all of the heatsinks fit very tightly on this board (my Gigabyte had poorly installed heatsinks, which meant the board overheated even with minor overclocking attempts). The "armored" PCIE connector is a great idea and works well with my ASUS GeForce 1080Ti ROG Strix - a heavy board that doesn't flex the armored connector at all. MSI also easily accommodated my Corsair H60 liquid cooler, which I repurposed for the 2600X as I didn't want to go with the stock Wraith cooler (fan). Corsair connects with no problem, and even at peak loads with all cores running above 4GHz, the highest temperature I've seen is 72C. I get between 36C and 44C when idling and around 56C under moderate load. Absolutely no overheating issues with this board (unlike Gigabyte). If I had one criticism it would be the lack of color coding for the rear audio jacks, but I finally figured out what goes where (the diagram in the manual doesn't really help) so I'm not taking points off that. So far everything else has been fine this board amazing. Definitely very satisfied.
