Review on Marmot PreCip XL Boys' ๐Ÿงฅ Waterproof Jackets & Coats: Lightweight and Reliable! by Jim Raju

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice and big, water drips from it.

This is a really high quality outer layer/shell for kids who want to run in the rain. It's sized so an average sized person can wear a hooded sweatshirt or bulky sweater underneath and still fit snugly, which is good because this jacket has no warmth, just protection from rain and wind. I poured water on it (it hadn't rained yet!) to test the water resistance and the water immediately ran into beads. It's light but by no means flimsy. It's a little stiff and wrinkled, which reminds me of my Carhartt raincoat, which is very effective. I appreciate that this jacket gives my son a choice between being cold or just needing weather protection. This jacket is suitable for both warm and cold rain (with layers underneath). If you want to wear this mainly in the warm rain without thick winter clothes underneath, I would advise going down a size.

Pros
  • Zippered pockets provide convenient storage for small items
Cons
  • The jacket may not be strong enough to withstand tears or punctures.
