As James P's review said I've had the starter just over a year and it broke completely yesterday. The previous starter, original, lasted 14-15 years. I'll try again as it seems to be the only thing I can deliver to myself quickly. History and details of why the starter I bought here a year ago is faulty/cheap: mowed 3/4 of my yard, took a 15 minute break and started my Husqvarna again. Just to experience the scariest noise. A second later I shut down the mower, popped the lid in front of me and smelled burnt rubber. After a very cursory inspection, this starter was missing a rubber cap and a piece of rubber around the gear came loose. I found that the internal mechanisms were also ripped to pieces. The starter was stuck on the flywheel and going full throttle was clearly something the starter's internal mechanisms couldn't handle - which no starter could do, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm just doing my cheap build. When I took it off the engine yesterday I heard it rattle so much. I couldn't help but keep checking. How/why the starter suddenly got stuck in the flywheel will remain a mystery given the damage to the internal mechanisms. But I'll try again, I hope the quality has improved.
