Review on 📻 Sony SRF-M37V FM/AM/Weather/TV Radio Walkman: 25 Memory Presets (Discontinued) by David Silva

I read the reviews before I bought this unit. At the time there were two main complaints. These were station jamming and hitting the power button while in storage, draining the battery until next use. I bought this device despite these complaints. I was expecting some interference issues given the performance of the device and figured I could fix the accidentally pressing the power button. However, both issues have been addressed in the user manual. The block has a blocking switch. I believe this is mainly used to prevent accidentally pressing one of the station buttons, which inadvertently changes your station. However, this lock switch can be used to prevent accidental activation of the device. When you turn off the device, press the lock switch. While the lock switch is on, the device will not turn on when the power button is pressed. You just have to remember to turn off the lock switch before you turn on the device next time. I forgot and started thinking that either the device is defective or the battery is dead. Regarding transmitter interference, there is a two-position tuning switch. I don't quite understand its purpose, but if it's not tuned in properly, any station will be difficult to hear. I don't think the tuning switch will fix interference from competing stations, but thought I'd mention it here anyway. I'm close to Philadelphia but far from downtown. There are practically no competing stations in my area. However, some stations may experience interference at certain times and in certain physical locations. I expect transmitter interference will be common in big cities. But again, given the performance of the device, I expected that. Weather stations are usually difficult to hear, but I've had this problem with previous devices from other companies. I have to listen carefully, but since I listen to the weather so often, it's not a problem. Hope this information helps. I am very happy that I bought this device and use it a lot more than I expected.
