Review on SuperHandy Electric Portable Polyethylene Brushless by Scott Ramu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great tool - will it last longer than my Warn winch?

My Warn cable winch was disappointing in terms of durability - it just couldn't stand it, because the batteries just weren't enough even if it was used seldom. It only has one battery, but we'll see if it outlives the warning we had. The design ergonomics of the SuperHandy are similar to the Warn winch we already have. It has a brushless motor and if the electronics are comparable then it's a better deal (except they don't include a second battery). My suggestion to SuperHandy would be to let you buy the 2Ah battery or the 4Ah battery version here at Revain. The included 2Ah battery will do most jobs if you are just towing the jet ski in the water. trailer or 4x4 onto the bed of your truck, but for multiple use it may be necessary to have a second battery on hand or to replace an available 4Ah battery. I appreciate that the battery has a charge level indicator that makes it easier to see where you stand before setting out to use this device. The design of this winch is fairly simple and straightforward and is comparable to the Warn, but there are a few key differences. . Superhandy chose to use 20ft of braided polyethylene rope instead of metal rope. Warn has a 15 foot metal cord design that has its pros and cons. Combined with the PullzAll kit with extension straps or slings, you can expand or diversify the application of this device, just like Warn. The hook has a nice twist and turn feature, which is a big design improvement over some of the simpler setups I've used. The end of the rope attachment is wrapped in a nice black protective coating and the loop itself is actually protected by metal meant to prevent wear and tear on the rope. In general, a very thoughtful and safe design. I've found that I prefer this cable over the metal cables on my other winches because you won't scratch the contact points on your trailer or truck bed by using it on a winch, and you won't wear down the metal strands in the cable and it won't break your hands either, and the rope is much less likely to cut or cut off a link if the load breaks. Some criticize the missing remote control on this device - I personally don't see that as a disadvantage. for those who are going to buy this device, because in my experience remote controls can very easily be lost, fall (e.g. into a drink on a boat ramp), break, or drain the remote's battery at the worst possible moment. Overall I've been impressed with this device so far, although I haven't used it in any way to realize its full potential. While the Warn has had more accessories and spares since it's been around longer, I'm glad to be able to test this one out to see how it compares and if it outperforms the Warn. I will update this review as I test it on heavier items. this spring.
