Review on VEVOR 9.6Gal/ 38L Stainless Steel Water Alcohol Distiller Copper Tub Home Brewing Kit with Build-in Thermometer, Ideal for DIY Whisky, Wine, and Brandy - Silver by Dorvin Hawk

Mediocre pot Still the best for home brewing and winemaking

The documentation is mediocre and is more about crappy recipes than how to build and use it. The thermometer will fog up and have to be placed on the steam outlet, resulting in inaccurate readings. The condenser on the lid is a joke, the water in the condenser heats up instantly but should stay cool. To do this, the user must constantly add ice to the water source (bucket). There is no guide on how to use the striker effectively and why the small dome is out. The lid of the kettle shouldn't be flat, but should have a forward-facing onion shape that directs steam to the throat rather than resorting to the pressure of a pressure cooker. The condenser pump works harder than gravity, and the condenser sometimes overflows if left unattended. You must be vigilant in opening/closing the fresh water inlet, this can be improved with the buoyancy level. A thermometer for the condenser water would also be nice. The thermometer was flooded with water at the end of a long run (4 hours). Leaks between cap and stem of thermometer, double sealing required, inside and outside, glass body seal does not prevent vapor ingress. Pipes and couplings must be covered with Teflon tape wherever the fumes would otherwise escape. See photo of bad thermometer. Ask Revain to send me a replacement thermometer or I'll have to return the whole set. Many Thanks. All in all it's too easy.
