Does not like lath and plaster
Got this to find the ceiling joists to hang a chair. Found out my ceilings are lath and plaster and this thing is a pain in the you know what because it kept detecting the lath boards instead of joists. I set it to deep detect and it still had trouble, so I ended up going into my attic to confirm I got the bolts into the joist. Which I didn't want to do because it's unfinished, hot, and frankly I'm a little afraid of attics.Works fine on drywall though. I had tested it on my walls before using it on the ceiling to get a feel for how it's used.
- Very accurate and easy to use.
- The sound warning feature is inconsistent and often false alarms
