Review on A&R Sports BladeGards Ice Skate Guard - Universal Custom Fit by Jonathan Jensen

Too difficult to assemble.

Bought a black pair, the quality of the material is actually quite good. The problem, as many other users have said, is difficult to solve. If you happen to buy one, the first thing you should do is throw away the instructions. It is completely useless and gives false information. Here's how I put them together: Dimension. I put two pieces on the two ends of the blade so they could move in the middle. I measure the distance. I had 1.75 inches. I divided this distance by 2, which equals 0.875. Another minus 0.25 inches from this measurement equals 0.625. This is the size you should cut from each of the four pieces of protection. It doesn't have to be that precise, I cut off just over half an inch and it works fine. If you don't have a table or miter saw, it will be difficult to cut accurately. I used a kitchen knife and a wooden cutting board. I pressed the butcher knife to the marked piece and swung the knife back and forth, holding it with some force. It takes some effort, but I was able to cut them relatively cleanly. Assembly. Join the two cut guards, raw end to raw end. Place the springs on the sides of the railings and see which holes put a little strain on them after assembly. You need tension to prevent the guards from falling out of your blade. After assembling the springs, make sure to turn the screw clockwise with a Phillips screwdriver so that the spring loops are fully seated in the protective cover. Please note that after putting the assembly on the blade, there should be a small gap between the two parts of the protective sheath. This shows that you have enough tension to keep the guards in place and it won't hurt the guards' usefulness. If you bought this and are frustrated with the build I hope this helps. Much luck. If you haven't bought this yet, I suggest you find more comfortable protectors for your skates.
