Depends on blade

They fit my son's goalie skates but the shape doesn't match his normal hockey skates. They tend to slip away from the latter. It is quite difficult to determine the right length of cut and spring tension so that they are easy to put on but do not slip off. Due to Covid we have to go to the rink fully dressed and climb the stairs to the ice.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

  • Not reliable

Longer guards are the perfect size

Fits perfectly on women's size 9 skates (10 2/3 inch blade length) and I cut about a half inch off one of the guards for each skate. Bought the color turquoise, unfortunately more turquoise blue. Looks strong and high quality. Pretty easy to assemble. I don't know what some of the reviewers complained about, but I had no trouble connecting the springs together. Just needed a little patience.

Not "plug and play "

instructions were not clear. They suggest looking for a number on the blade that tells you how big the guard cut is. I couldn't find the number on the old skates. I was able to approximate the size by eye and mark with a marker and used a hacksaw and miter box to get nice straight edges. I also needed very thin needle nose pliers to set the springs in place. I don't want to overdramatize this; The whole thing took 5 minutes and the rings fit well and appear to work well. Just don't bring an…

They're ok if sorted out

As with some reviews here, the problem is figuring out the guards. "Instructions" are useless. Maybe worse; I couldn't understand them until I threw away the instructions. I was lucky; My pads are just the right length for my skates so I didn't have to cut the pads. But it still wasn't intuitive. Another reviewer said he found a video showing how it's done. Be sure to find this video before purchasing and see if it helps. Once I got everything working they work fine. Without the instructions I…

Perfect replacement for my figure skate pads

Over the years I have bought many pairs of pads for my figure skates and I always go to the local skateboard shop. When my last pair broke I didn't have time for a special trip so I ordered Revain instead. Very happy with the price and the guards look just like the ones I've always used. They even came with a handy cutting blade which I've never seen before but would have come in handy years ago! I love that they are so easy to set up and fit well on my dance blades. I bought a light green…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

I gave it 4 stars because the product itself is really great quality. What's wrong, as I'm sure you've read, is the instructions that come with them. Don't use them, your guards won't work. I looked up how to measure without a guide and it worked a lot better on my second watch, but I had to pinch the first one because it was WAY too short, resulting in the springs not working. Overall I didn't find them difficult to put together, but did watch a video on how to do it: measure and install the…

The guards are long enough for long blades

I recently purchased a pair of skates with blades measuring just over 11.5 inches. It seemed quite long compared to other reviewers' posts about how long their blades are. I looked through Revain and couldn't find any skate guards that were supposed to be long enough until I found these. They're definitely long enough for my blades. They were actually too long, so I cut off just under 1 inch from each. sides so they can meet in the middle without overlapping. To figure out how much to cut I…

Too difficult to assemble.

Bought a black pair, the quality of the material is actually quite good. The problem, as many other users have said, is difficult to solve. If you happen to buy one, the first thing you should do is throw away the instructions. It is completely useless and gives false information. Here's how I put them together: Dimension. I put two pieces on the two ends of the blade so they could move in the middle. I measure the distance. I had 1.75 inches. I divided this distance by 2, which equals 0.875…
