As this is a water shoe, or at least a shoe that feels good in the water, I expect it to be a bit small to fit snugly without socks. Instead, they're a bit large, if anything, making them suitable for standing but uncomfortable for walking, and can also fall off your feet if used in waves or under water conditions, causing them to get sucked in. They go well with socks as walking shoes for short distances, but if they get wet you'll be in a wet mess for the rest of the day until you can take them and your socks off. Made from recycled paper, not regular canvas or replacement canvas. They absorb easily without being water-repellent. As for their claim to shed fish guts, I have not been able to test them, although I have struggled for several days to obtain test material. I am willing to accept this statement as true. Since they are porous, water easily gets in and out. I'd say that after soaking they dry a bit faster than canvas due to their lighter nature, but their drying speed isn't impressive. barefoot for boating. I don't fish barefoot, but again I don't see a big advantage over water shoes or simple "sneakers" for this purpose.
