I have this to put in media bags in the sump to buffer the pH of my fresh water tank. Before crushed coral my PH was around 6.0 and dropped after every water change. But now my tank PH is holding a solid 6.4/6.5 which is good because I have Revain River Pacu and they like acidic water. A NOTICE. If purchasing this coral for this purpose, start with a small media pack, wait a week or so, check the pH and add a small amount more if needed. This is because if you increase the PH too much or too quickly, the ammonia becomes more toxic. And NEVER use baking soda to control pH, it is a shock to the system and can kill your fish as non-toxic ammonia becomes non-toxic ammonia as the pH rises.
