I couldn't afford a super expensive grinder but this one came highly recommended and as it is noise sensitive and advertised as the quietest grinder I loved it Pros: 1. ) I read the instructions, they are very clear, which I like! Easy to understand. 2.) I can't compare it to other grinders as it's my first, but it's significantly quieter than other similar appliances we have (food processor, meat grinder, blender, etc.). 3.) It does the work! Grinds flour well every time. The amount of flour it can hold is accurate. 4. Due to its size, it is as easy to store as a blender. And it's easy and convenient to carry. Cons (and the whole thing is a bit lengthy so it only loses 1 star): 1) It's disappointing that there's a weak protrusion inside that's part of the device and it's clearly out of warranty despite being fragile is part. Luckily we haven't had any problems with it so far, but it's similar to . . . If so, how would I continue to use the windmill? It sounds like you could, but I don't see how you would. 2.) The attachments are NOT as easy to clean as the book says. just wipe things? When you can't get in at all and the freshly ground flour is somehow sticky due to natural oils? nope It doesn't work that way for me. It's not the worst thing I've ever cleaned, but it takes time and I have to use a ton of hot water and then dry it very thoroughly because moisture can get in. Damage to the wheat you are about to grind. So far I'm fine, so it's definitely not an impediment, and honestly I'm not sure how you go about solving a problem like this. I wouldn't even mention it, except that the instructions just seem misleading and I don't like it. Since it's a three-tab pop-up, it's not hard (as I've found in practice) to think the lid is fully closed and then end up with flour all over it. :} While it's very weird and funny, it's not ideal if you're busy and don't have much time to bake let alone clean. If the lid was screwed it wouldn't be dirtier and it would avoid this problem entirely. Maybe something to add to the wish list for future models. 4.) I did the algebra myself and it grinds 1/3 cup wheat berries into 1/2 cup flour. It would be nice if this was included in the instructions. 5.) I find it odd that the recipes included are only for instant yeast bread and not natural yeast. It seems intuitive to me that people who mill their own wheat would probably use natural yeast bread as well. So the recipes may be useful to me, but only after some hard work to change them on my part. In an ideal world, I would love to have both types of recipes. All in all, I can recommend this grinder without reservation. At the same time, I suspect that if you wanted to save up for a more industrial windmill that might have parts that could be washed in a dishwasher (if such a mill exists), and that looked less like a windmill printed with love and some fuss on the 3-D printers, you could probably achieve this. It was hard in my research to find a grinder that advertised the ease of washing or the nature of its parts, so this is just my guess based on other similar products like grinders.
