Review on HENCKELS Sharpening Steel 9 Inch Stainless by Jennifer Clark

The quality of this sharpener is as expected. The pen looks a little cheap but given the price my money goes into the steel barrel and not the pen or similar features. The handle and shaft have become sufficient for their purpose. Nothing special, but the build quality is okay. The steel rod itself is great. This is a more classic round style compared to oval and has a nice and even finish. 9 inch stainless steel is great for utility knives. It doesn't "sharpen" your knife, but it sharpens you and gives you a sharp edge. However, it has a lot of meaning that is easy to see, feel and experience by comparing before and after. Not being a professional, I don't have a wide variety of sharpening tools like different sizes and materials of steel and whetstones. I just need an all purpose sharpener that I can use every few times the knife is used. The knives I use are Chicago Cutlery and Victorinox. along with a couple of Wüsthof and Henckels and other random knives. I find it works well on all of them, I just pay attention to the angle of the blade I'm sharpening and listen for the right sound as it sharpens.
