Review on Pattern Design Software (PDS) by Joel Singh

I find PDS is really user friendly. With the use of different filters, it is possible with just a couple of clicks you can edit a design. The layout of the software could be improved but still very simple to operate from first time users like me. It also gives you room for expansion at your own discretion. If you have never designed before or used any software before this one is not as intimidating. There are some tutorials or videos that make things easier for the newbies but i think they should make them part of there standard equipment during an orientation that explains how the software works. Using pattern design as my primary tool has helped out alot in speeding up my overall turnaround time, it makes changes very easy to see when compared to the paper process which usually took days and days. The software is easy to use, it has a good interface that allows for quick access to all necessary information. It is flexible and can be adapted to our needs. There are some aspects of the program that we would like to see improved. For example, the drawing feature could be more intuitive. The system is very well designed and I recommend it to anyone who wants to create their own patterns. We have been able to produce new designs and produce many different products with this software.
