Yes, the rumors are true. The thing is fast. I mean very quickly. I'll have to run some Blackmagic speed tests to provide evidence, but you can see it as soon as you try to transfer files. This thing is way faster than any other card reader I've ever used, including any built in card readers. And it's not just Class II cards where you're seeing speed gains. I've tried several different cards, some even outdated cards, and in every case, this reader is so much faster that all other readers I've used seem like dinosaurs. It looks cool too, with a glossy black finish and a nice shape that makes it stand out without being too flashy. Another really great feature this reader has - and I'm now surprised no one has thought of it - is the ability to make the bottom magnetic. It doesn't seem like much, but it really is. You can place this reader on any metal surface, including the computer itself, and it just stays in place. Great idea! (And expect to see copies of this idea from other brands by next year.) It's a bit more expensive than other drives, but for those who are into photography and take lots of photos, this device will save so much time. pretty amazing. I am totally impressed with this product and am picky! Five stars.
