This is a well-designed card reader that is great for use with computers equipped with a USB-C port. You get high transmission speeds on these new connections. The item comes in a well-designed, easy-to-open packaging and comes with a traditional USB cable as well as a USB-C cable. Well, if they also made an XQD card reader. However, an SD card reader is great.

I had to go back. Best in Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Unit arrived loose inside and rattled when moved slightly. It had some kind of defect and when I contacted the company they said we could exchange it but unfortunately they were on order. So I ended up sending it back and then just bought it when it was in stock. The other device that came works fine, it gets quite hot, I think that's normal. I'm still a bit nervous about the magnets and if they'll mess up my hard drive, but they assured me everything would be fine.

My new favorite cfast 2.0 card reader

This card reader is a high performance card reader designed like a tank. I've been looking for something with 3.1 Gen 2 speeds and I'm very impressed with everything from the packaging to the extra 50Mbps download speeds via the Sandisk 3.0 reader. To be honest my bottleneck is probably my card as it is an early model that is no longer being made. The cable could have been longer as my custom PC case only has Gen 2 speeds on the back. I won't give this one a full star, but I did find a 3ft…

Nice machine but be very careful.

reader fast and high quality but be VERY careful. I didn't know it had a built in magnet so I foolishly put it on a portable hard drive and the magnet fried the drive. Totally unrecoverable due to physical damage to the hard drive platter. Thanks to this "handy" magnet feature, I've lost a terabyte of projects and related information. So don't be stupid like me and attach a strong magnet to your luggage rack and other than that it's a great device. Not sure if others have had this problem, but…

Best SD card reader I've ever used

Yes, the rumors are true. The thing is fast. I mean very quickly. I'll have to run some Blackmagic speed tests to provide evidence, but you can see it as soon as you try to transfer files. This thing is way faster than any other card reader I've ever used, including any built in card readers. And it's not just Class II cards where you're seeing speed gains. I've tried several different cards, some even outdated cards, and in every case, this reader is so much faster that all other readers I've…

The fastest CFAST reader I've ever seen!

As a technician I decided to run some tests at the rental store to compare my new card reader to the standard readers they stocked. Lexar CR1 (the one without Thunderbolt 2) and a Codex cfast 2.0 reader (not sure which model it is). I used an Arri certified SanDisk Cfast 2.0 128GB card. I formatted the card and ran the tests via USB 3.1. The Gen 2 cables I had for all the card readers plugged directly into my Mac's Thunderbolt ports and with the cables that came with each card reader came…
