Review on Dell AC511M Stereo SoundBar by Josue Porter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams.

My Dell monitor had direct mount hardware for this unit and a USB port on the back of the LCD for direct connection. I bought the device to make it easier for me to use Skype for Business and MS Teams in my small home office. The device did not disappoint me! Installation was easy, just plug it in, plug the USB into a hub or computer, and then get started. Configuration was a bit clunky, but I've been in the IT world longer than I'd like to admit, so I was able to tweak the audio settings and make it my main unit. On calls that require me to use a headset, I have no problem with Skype for Business selecting the speakerphone instead of the headset. The teams initially played around a bit to figure it out. The sound quality is good, both from my end and the people I call say it sounds like I'm wearing a headset. Full disclosure, I had an issue with interference from my wireless access point, which is on my desk under the display this speaker connects to. This resulted in people I calling hearing a rhythmic click or pop (I couldn't hear it, made a couple of calls before someone pointed it out). The solution was simple, move the wireless access point more than 24 inches away, problem solved. Calls are as clear as possible. I've had it for a few months now. I still haven't really used the control buttons on the front of the device. I usually configure all of these settings through the app with the speaker. I think it's beautiful, but it's not exactly what I need. YMMV.
