Installed according to the instructions. The screws holding it to your roof will come loose on their own. We tested it by going to the local marina which is only a few miles away. I tightened it as tight as I could on the roof rack, but the puffs are for hand tightening and include parts/instructions or some mechanism to prevent loosening. By the time we got to the pier, they were completely freaked out. On the way back I tightened it again and when we got home it loosened again. If we were driving on the freeway, they would have gone all the way. Contributing to this are numerous design flaws, including the flexing of the metal bracket and the fact that the mounting mechanism is primarily bolts. I have asked for a refund and will look at other roof options. Please note that the instructions do not apply to all parts in the box.
