Suitable for heater. I use it in my (very well ventilated) upstairs bathroom when I shower since my thermostat sensor is downstairs and I live in an old house that doesn't retain heat as well as one would like for a Wisconsin winter would hope for. It's not obvious and has caused problems for some reviewers - something they might understand if they read the instructions, so read the instructions for use as soon as you get them. Unfortunately, the smell, which is also mentioned as a shortcoming, does not completely disappear even after several weeks of regular use, but becomes significantly less after one or two days spread over the day. although one might hope so. It turns off as soon as you move it, even if it's just a few inches, and turns on again when it's level again. In general, the heating is fine. I probably wouldn't buy it again, but for $50 I'm glad enough not to return it.
