Understand that Tandy tools aren't premium in quality, but for the frugal leatherworker willing to spend a little time sharpening and honing the front end, this is one good phase. Some of these bevelers make a good bevel right out of the box and some don't. I recommend sharpening and honing them before using them on your leatherworking projects. With proper care, they will last for many years without spending money on more expensive beveling machines. All edgers (top quality or not) will dull over time, so it pays to invest the time and effort in learning proper sharpening and honing techniques. Once sharpened, you only need to sharpen the blade occasionally to keep it sharp. This is a good value product if you take the time to sharpen and grind the front end before use.
