I am a primary school teacher and I always paint with my students. They are great for my use. They are nice and dark so my students can see them on screen. We use colored pencils to "highlight" the different parts of words (vowels, digraphs, combinations, etc.) and they are good for coloring the text so that you can read the text. They're quite thick, so it's difficult to color small things - I'd like to see a thin version. They are so smooth that they remind me of many oil pastels, but they don't transfer color to your hands like oil pastels and they don't smear. Because they are so smooth and soft, you don't have to press hard when coloring, unlike traditional crayons. I wouldn't let my kids use these as they are so soft - definitely great for older kids and adults.
