I'm always on the lookout for new bath and body care products, especially ones that can simplify my efforts and save time. Growing up in a large family, a bar of soap was commonplace for all things shower and hygiene: shower shampoo, shower gel, and tonic. In the last 20 years it seems like liquid body washes have gone mainstream and I've certainly embraced these trends. I've used almost every major brand of shower gel and shampoo/conditioner and often feel like I could use more sustainable and natural products. I've only used one bar in the last few years, one from Duke's and it smelled great and was of high quality. My skin has become too sensitive or too sensitive and bars of soap just dry out the skin. However, bar soap lasts much longer than liquid soap and can save you a lot of money. Shampoo, shower and shaving soap Man Man caught my eye and was intrigued by previous reviews. I had my reservations as it was a hard soap but thought it might be worth a try. At first I was happy to see that the soap was made in the USA. The box has a New Zealand address on it, so it looks like this New Zealand company makes homewares in the US. Secondly, I was pleased that there is no lauryl sulfate in the composition. I wasn't sure how effective the soap would be at lathering, but it actually exceeded my expectations and supposedly created a "more effective cleaning end result" as stated by the company on the packaging. Palm oil is the number one soap ingredient that I usually avoid when cooking. But I clean, don't cook, so no reservations! Woodspice is a men's fragrance that smells great but doesn't linger. Natural oils nourish, clean and provide a pleasant scent that my wife and I love. I've been using Mane Man Bar for a little over a week and my first use wasn't what I was hoping for. I was happy with the thick lather despite the lack of lauryl sulfate, but for the first two or three days my hands were rough and dry and my hair was rough and dry. Based on how my hair felt, ie my scalp hair and beard, I didn't want to use it on my body for fear my skin would remain dry and itchy. After about the third or fourth day of using the shampoo, my hair felt, looked and felt much better. So I think it just needed a rewire as it's only been exposed to liquid shampoo and conditioner for the past 20-25 years. I am very happy with it now and use it daily on my beard and head. However, my body/skin is not used to it yet, so I will continue to use a different liquid shower gel. I guess my body will eventually adjust to the changes but for now I won't be using it on my body and I won't be using it for shaving. However, this is my opinion and you might like it better than I do. I am very happy with this shower and shampoo and see it as a new addition to my daily shower routine. Go ahead and get yours today!
