Review on πŸ’‘ Ultimate Versatility: Explore the Adjustable Eventek KPS3010D Switching Regulated Power Supply by Bernardino Suazo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall good value for money, but there are a few things that potential buyers should be aware of.

First off, this review was written by an Electrical Engineer, but I will do my best to make it clear to the layperson. 10A power supply in this price range. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. I used a Fluke 289 multimeter to evaluate it. Accuracy over most of the range is nominally within 0.05 VDC, which is pretty damn good. The adjustment from 0 VDC to the full 30 VDC range is instantaneous. Setting the opposite direction from 30VDC to 0VDC is a different story. It took 12 seconds to drop below 1 VDC. and 37 seconds to drop to 0 VDC. The course knob obviously has to regulate the voltage over the full range of the scale from 0 to 30V and only needs to rotate 360 degrees. That works great. Well, here's the catch. The fine tuning is non-linear over the full scale range. In my opinion, and from a usability perspective, it should offer constant adjustability of around 2V DC. It's not relevant. This gives you 0.0002 VDC regulation at 0 VDC and about 2.3 VDC regulation at 29 VDC. In practice this means that if you try to set a very common voltage, e.g. B. 3.3 VDC, have to do some very small movements with the coarse dial to get the voltage close enough. to the desired voltage in order to be able to set it sufficiently with the fine scale knob. In practice this is a bit annoying. All in all good value for money and quite usable, albeit terribly slow in adjusting tension with the inconsistent fine adjustment knob and terribly sensitive coarse adjustment knob at low voltages.
