They used to be great, but now they're made like cheap junk

I don't even know where to begin. I bought some of the newest ones for myself and for other people and they were all the same quality which was great for the price but what I got was the first time I noticed that it didn't even have a powder coat finish had on the outside, so it's just metal that rusts easily. Then there's the fact that it's smaller which is kind of nice but then you realize they wanted to be even cheaper by getting rid of the 110/240v switch, when I opened it up I realized…

Really great simple device, with overly sensitive coarse adjustment

In general the device is excellent. I really liked having a 10 amp output as I do a lot of low voltage, high amperage projects like flashlights, motors, etc. The device comes with two pairs of clips, both ends of which are alligator clips, which I find useless, so I connected the JST connector to one of my two, which works much better than alligator clips. Overall good value for money, but there are a few things that potential buyers should be aware of.

First off, this review was written by an Electrical Engineer, but I will do my best to make it clear to the layperson. 10A power supply in this price range. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. I used a Fluke 289 multimeter to evaluate it. Accuracy over most of the range is nominally within 0.05 VDC, which is pretty damn good. The adjustment from 0 VDC to the full 30 VDC range is instantaneous. Setting the opposite direction from 30VDC to 0VDC is a different story. It took 12 seconds…
