It's easy to use and wears out quickly before I even wash it (so the cheese doesn't get in the dishwater). I don't have a dishwasher so I don't know how it affects the plastic, but it cleans up in seconds with warm, soapy water. The last omelette microwave I bought broke after a few uses and I couldn't fix it. This is the best!MY omelette recipe only takes 1-1/2 minutes: Whisk together 2 eggs and some water, pour over one side and seal. Microwave for 30 seconds, open and stir in the microwave, cook for another 30 seconds. This time, take it out and put a bunch of sliced vegetables, ham, cheese, etc. in it and close the lid again. Cook another 30-35 seconds. The whole mixture slides directly onto the plate after a gentle push with a spatula. [Disclaimer: I'm NOT a very good cook, but it's easy, quick, and delicious, and a real cook might improve my version.]
