I hooked this into my 3d printer looking for a balance of more power and less noise. As soon as I turned it on I realized something was wrong. I turned the fan off and pulled out my decibel meter on my phone. I know these aren't as reliable but it reads the background noise of my printer room at 40, so that is close enough. I set it on the printbed and got 50 with the noisy stock hotend fan running. I turned this fan back on at 50% and the readings jumped to 55. When I turned the fan to 100% my readings jumped to 60 decibel, 50% higher than the description states. I tried the test again with the phone setting on my desk 5 feet away and got 44 with the stock fan, 45 with this at 50% and 50 at 100%. That is only 25 percent over the description, but still a huge disappointment when this was intended to reduce the noise of the printer.
