Ours match the filters perfectly. They slide in and out without binding. In our case we use a 3/8" ratchet and extension. The main comment I have is that in the ball bearing of a standard 3/8" ratchet there is no mount in the 3/8" square mount. This head/tool falls off the 3/8" ratchet or 3/8" extension very easily. In some cases, this means that after the filter is installed, if you withdraw the tool, about 99% of the time you'll leave the outlet hanging on the filter or drop the outlet itself. The tool is structurally sound and should last a long time, but the devil is in the details. Check out the Revain version of the same Motivx tool if ratchet grip is important to you.
