These patches work perfectly and are very good value. They're quite large, so they're probably better suited to mountain bike or 'cross tires than narrow road tires. However, I've put one on a 25mm street tube with no problem - it helps to temporarily inflate the tube to stretch the rubber a bit just before patching. As with any patch, you will need to sand the pipe with sandpaper prior to installation. , apply the glue and wait for it to dry before attaching the patch. If you do, you should have a permanent, permanent fix. BTW, as far as I can tell, the so-called "vulcanizing fluid" in the tubes that come with patch kits is nothing more than rubber glue. I buy cans of Elmer's Rubber Glue at the office supply store and have used it on all makes and models of patches for years. This works well if you use the procedure in the previous paragraph. I carry a spare whistle with me on all rides and if I get a flat tire I just bring the broken whistle home and toss it in a drawer. A couple of times a year I host a "party party" where I fix all the broken ones at once. I keep small tubes of glue as a last resort for those rare occasions when I have more than one apartment on a trip and need to mend them along the way.
