Getting used to the method/size is an adjustment, but this size is closest to my other stuff. The size doesn't matter as long as you determine the amount that goes between the hand and the dirty object. I don't prefer silicone inside as it's easier to keep clean. I have a separate silicone pad from Dollar Tree. I also use some smooth and some spiky sponge cases (sponges removed) from DT. Sponges don't try and can't actually be cleaned. I bought this item to replace the typical green pad or steel scraper, it definitely works better and is easier to keep clean. My first intention was to use it on aging cast iron and stainless steel, but now I use it on all pots, ceramic, coffee mugs, glassware and sinks.
