Review on Ultimate Performance Upgrade: Energy Suspension 4.2121G Front Spring Bushing Set for Ford 4WD by Ryan Fuhrer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great bushings for my 1997 F-350 7.3 4x4 Diesel!

I bought this bushing kit because my 17 year old bushings were completely shot up (as I found out when trying to align one day). I'm glad I swapped out the old rubbers for these. The ride is stiffer than before, mainly due to the fact that the truck doesn't lean or roll around corners as much as it used to, but I like it because it's a four-wheel drive car and I like to feel what I'm feeling . I keep driving. Now the truck feels a little straighter than before and a little more level. It may just be my perception of changing bushings. This kit is great because it comes with all the bushings you need to install both front springs and calipers. Also, at first glance at the packaging, it might seem that the two small tubes of lube that come with the kit aren't enough, but that's not the case. I noticed on the first sleeve that you don't need to foam the material. A thin, light layer is enough and it does its job well. Just remember to lubricate ALL metal surfaces that come in contact with the bushings and be sure to deburr them after beating and pulling out old bushings and bushings. (I've found that the right size deep impact socket is good for popping old bushings out of the bushing and all, using some 1/2" or 9/16" - the bushing needs some drilling - all Threads, washers, nuts and a bit of ingenuity .) You noticed correctly, yes, take out the bushings too. The bushings fit directly into the spring eyes and calipers without the old bushing.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
