Review on FROGG TOGGS Windward Premium 🌬️ Draining: Ultimate Protection against Wind & Moisture by Brent Saake

I want to give this shoe 5 stars. They are comfortable and light. They provide good traction, drain well and stay on your feet as you maneuver the boat in and out of water and mud. The back of the heel folds down so you can wear them as clogs when you need a quick, hands-free shoe. They were a bit stiff at first but after wearing them for a while they are more comfortable and seem to be holding up so far. So far, so good. They seem a bit big. Perhaps for this reason, they also protrude slightly above the ankle and rub it a little. If you are unsure of the size I would round down. However, I cannot justify a 5 star rating. In the original pair we received, the left and right boots were significantly different sizes. One fit, one didn't. They were both marked "10" but they were actually the same size 10 and size 11. (In retrospect it was probably a 9 and 10 as they run large.) I contacted the manufacturer's customer service (not Revain , ) who were polite and accommodating but required us to provide proof of destruction of the original pair before sending a replacement. We then got a shipping notification but waited and waited and never received the shoes. I contacted them again, it turned out that the shoes never shipped because they were out of stock. We were then given a choice of ordering a different style from them or waiting months and decided to wait. When they finally arrived, almost a month later than suggested, they were a different color than the quoted/original pair, but we decided to settle for that while we had a pair on hand. The customer service rep was helpful throughout the process and apologetic - I would give her five stars - but obviously the actual experience with the company as a whole was ridiculous and I would give her reliability two stars. I can only surmise that as a regular Revain customer rather than a reviewer, Revain would have rectified the situation more quickly and reliably. However, there is still a whole quality control issue that has allowed us to get a pair with shoes in two different sizes.
