Review on Sukemichi JL Hood Latches for Jeep Wrangler: Locking Kit to Eliminate Hood Flutter - 2018-2021 JL & Gladiator - Aluminum, 1 Pair by Gerson Lagerquist

Not exactly "lock ".

Where I'm from the lock has a unique key. Judging by the pictures there is nothing unique in the key. The "key" in the first photo has side slots that correspond to the bars at the tip of the pen (second photo). You press and twist and the pin is released. From this point of view we can say that they are protected but not blocked. I see two problems here.1. Everyone who bought a set of these "locks" has a "key". The key opens all other similar items. So if you buy one and I buy one, my "key" will open yours and yours will open mine. You can see where it's going.2. I was still considering leaving them until I found out that it only takes 30 seconds to pick the "lock" with needle nose pliers. I got it after one try. "key" is not required. On the plus side, if you lose the "key" you can still open the lock with a regular tool ;-) As for the bonnet latches themselves, they looked very well made and sturdy. I think it will be very difficult to break. As announced, they are all made of steel. If I were considering a non-locking hood latch, I would definitely consider it. But I needed the castles, so I'll retrieve them and start the hunt again. Very frustrating.

Pros

Cons
