Review on πŸ”§ Ridgid 57003 EZ Change Faucet Tool: Sink Wrench for Easy Plumbing Repairs (Orange) by Kipp Amundson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool AND great warranty support.

This tool is GREAT for the plumber replacing a faucet or plumbing under the sink. Well, it doesn't always make sense. Sometimes the space between the sink and the back wall is too narrow for this tool and you have to use the classic telescopic sink wrench. BUT in most cases this tool makes the job MUCH easier. Typically provides enough torque to loosen the faucet nuts. It's as easy as using a screwdriver. (Contrast this to using a flat-head wrench.) Change (twist) the "head" end of the wrench and you have a wrench for the umbilical nuts. Spin again and you have a wrench to turn those frozen stop buttons. Etc. At the other end of the tool is a combination drain key and lever "hole". The drain wrench is great for removing and installing basket strainers and can even come in handy with a tub drain (of the right type). The "hole" of the lever allows you to use a screwdriver (or whatever) to increase the torque on the wrench. Note. I've never had to use a lever hole. With my first such tool, we managed to break one of the teeth of the drain wrench. (The metal tips appear to be cast aluminum.) I called Ridgid and they FAST sent me a replacement tool. No stress. So: AWESOME tool warranty support with a lifetime guarantee. SOME of my fellow plumbers find it very difficult to understand how to use the tool. The wrench end of the tool "pops" out of the plastic handle and can be rotated and reinserted to select a different wrench "socket" and it's too heavy for them, they'd rather use the telescoping sink wrench they're familiar with. So: This tool is NOT for every plumber. But any plumber savvy enough to figure out how to use it and installing kitchen or toilet fixtures should definitely have one in their box.
