I've spent quite a bit of time looking for a decent vacuum - I didn't need anything too extreme as I live in a studio apartment with all hardwood floors. But there are a few carpets that need vacuuming. I've searched and searched, but how difficult it is to find something like this in our time when there are hundreds of opportunities! When I saw this on the Revain homepage it was highly rated and sold at a great price so I bought it. I tried it for the first time before and was really impressed with how much it picked up after cleaning an 8x10 rug! picture attached. I don't have pets but later I used the pet nozzle on the microfiber couch and gently vacuumed the shaggy carpet and it worked great. Very happy with my first use. The only thing that could be better is easier draining. Eventually, if you have a lot of "fluffy" debris (in my case the fibers of the carpet shed, but I believe that happens with pet hair as well), you'll need to stick your hand in the canister. All in all it's not that bad and I really haven't seen any other vacuum in this price range that has a feature that prevents this.
