At first, this headset wasn't easy to set up. I thought it was just plug and play but it depends on the setup. It is a simple plug and play installation when connected directly to a PC via USB. It was the other connection options that gave me problems. I'm using a laptop connected via USB-C to a powered docking station with four additional USB-A inputs on the docking station. The only other items attached to the dock are a unified receiver for a wireless mouse and keyboard combo and two DisplayPort monitors. All branded Business Class devices. Here's how I handled the following connection scenarios: - USB port on the laptop docking station USB port with adapter enabled: The headset made a loud, high-pitched, high-pitched tone that could be heard on both ends. It was basically useless. - 3.5mm male without USB adapter to 3.5mm combo speaker/mic jack on the docking station: the headset didn't work at all. No sound and no microphone. The headset works partially with the 3.5mm combo port on the PC, so this is likely a compatibility issue between the dock and the headset. 3.5mm plug without USB adapter directly to laptop: sound is audible but microphone does not work. It was connected to the dual built-in microphone and headphone jack, but it's hard to tell if the PC or the headset is to blame. Similar dock issue but no sound or mic. - USB connection directly to PC: This has proven to be the best, easiest and most reliable option. Everything worked without loud distortions or other problems. After the headset finally worked properly, I tested it with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Windows Voice Recording to check the microphone and speaker quality. Teams and Zoom work well both in live meetings and in test/setup mode of the device. I can hear other participants clearly and they can hear me well without distortion or excessive background noise. The headset doesn't completely cancel out all background noise, but I didn't expect a better noise-cancelling microphone at this price point. The built-in USB controller works well for mute and volume control. The keys are also nicely backlit. Adjustable ear cups fit your ear comfortably. I wouldn't call them comfortable or uncomfortable, just enough. The pads are also stiff and difficult to adjust. They slide up and down the headband but are too tight and difficult to adjust with precision. Every time I try to gradually move one of the pads up or down, it takes so much effort that I end up depressing the pad all the way. In addition to the rigidity, the build quality is not bad. The connection cable is covered with fabric, which offers an additional protection against tearing and tearing. This headset is fine for everyday or light business use, but the difficulty in adjusting the ear cushions is a handicap for me considering this is intended for professional use at high volumes. When I'm busy with multiple calls and meetings, I don't have time to take the headset off and struggle with the headset every time I need to set it up. The link mismatch makes them too unpredictable for me too. I've had several instances where headsets or speakers have let me down at the most inopportune moment.
