Get real bluetooth sound in your Acura

I installed this on a 2008 Acura TL. Typical for this car, the HFL is not reliable. I've baked the board a few times but it still fails after a few months. Also, without an adapter, there is no Bluetooth audio in the car. I added a BT45 ACU and now I have it. It connects to my iPhone very quickly when I start the car. My wife's cell phone is also connected to it and it works perfectly for her too. Installation is easy, but you need to take your time. The kit includes all the straps you need to secure items. For the TL you need to install it in the trunk as that is where the XM receiver is located. I put the microphone in the trunk next to the sun visor. This can be done without removing the headliner, but you will need to remove part of the side panel to release everything. In particular, the C-pillar trim needs to be removed to route the cable from the headliner to the trunk. I highly recommend disconnecting the battery as this will get you next to the rear curtain airbag. Also route the cable so that it does not interfere with deployment of the airbag. If you take your time and work with the microphone, the setup looks absolutely professional. If you don't want to use the ability to make/answer calls, don't mess with the microphone, installation is very simple. You may have Bluetooth audio from your phone, you just can't talk through it. Installing the receiver in the trunk took about 1 hour. It took about 2 hours to work with the mic - basically just being very careful not to damage the trimmings.
