Review on Yakima SweetRoll Roof-Mounted Boat Loader and Carrier for Vehicles, Holds 1 Boat by Matthew Burnett

Good . if not a great idea that didn't justify itself

That's a good idea that is far from being realized. The first release was SweetRoll. Spring . rolled on the grid. Through trial and error, I found that there was a "fault" or at least an error in one part. in the adapter for rods. Yes, I have a full-size Yakima with round handlebars. In any case, by carefully grinding about half a millimeter of the top mating parts against the hinge. allowed the clamp to compress the adapter enough to allow the tabs inside to grip the stem. The second design flaw is that the wheels are too small to function effectively as intended. The weight of the kayak (72 lb Old Town Vashon Tandem) and the camber of the bottom of the boat allowed the boat to touch the rubber gripping surface of the saddle. Barely run the roller. This leads to the third disadvantage. Third design flaw: very sticky rubber around handlebars and seat. You can't roll/slip a boat on it. Wheel lesions concept view. This exacerbates the problem of the second design flaw (the wheel is too small). I cut out the rubber and it greatly improved functionality. However, for this price you would expect a better design, better functionality and good quality. simply the best product. I called their support team throughout this trial and error process. They even posted a similar review on their website. it was never published. Very disappointing to say the least. I would not recommend the product. A design change makes a good idea work. My modifications helped make this work, but a slightly larger wheel would have been awesome.
