Review on MLCS 9080 Billy Switch Deadman by Greg Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Basic equipment, every joinery needs at least one.

I work on a band saw and this type of switch is an absolute must for a circular saw. It's easy to use. Click on your foot and the saw will turn on. Raise your leg and the saw will stop. It's not speed control. The speed is controlled by a button on the saw. Once I've set the speed for the material I'm cutting, I don't need to constantly change it, but I want to be able to start and stop the saw instantly without taking my hands off the work piece. This switch serves its purpose perfectly. It's very light, so you need to fix it. To facilitate this, there are protrusions on the front and back. I find that a one-by-six piece of board adds just enough weight to hold the derailleur in place, yet is portable enough that you can move it from car to car. However, I would recommend buying a separate switch for each machine you want to control. I'm already thinking about getting one for my lathe, drill and grinder. a year later: the fan on my saw broke. I plugged a three way adapter into my billy switch, plugged the saw into an outlet, bought a cheap aquarium pump and plugged it into another outlet so I had a spare outlet to add a shop vac to collect dust, once I figured out a way to hook it up. Thus, both the blower and the saw are turned on and off at the same time. I suffer from neuropathy and pain in my legs. This switch requires so little pressure that I can operate my saw for many hours without discomfort.
