Drop resistance is crucial for backups!
Well, my mother's husband died. And all his data was on a backup drive. And when she took the backup drive and his computer to the computer store, she dropped the backup drive. It was a predictable event for a 75-year-old woman. And I'm just grateful that it had a drop-resistant drive, because it goes a long way in keeping your data safe when backed up to a hard drive.
