Review on πŸ”ͺ G TING Whetstone Sharpener with Flattening Feature by Cedric Ford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bought this in a flash sale for $26 - great price

I am not an experienced knife sharpener but have tried various systems including. Arkansas stones and Lansky sharpeners. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these stones and slings give me just as good a knife time as any of the more expensive sets. Almost exactly as shown in the photos. This is one of the few sets that includes decent leather straps. Great price so be prepared for a few minor things: - the stones are probably rougher than the label says - I only had to use the higher grit 3000 and 8000 stones. - The stones are not perfectly flat. My 3000 stone has a slight indentation in the middle so the big knives only grab the edges. Stone 8000 is slightly crowned. So I actually used a white "leveling stone" to try to sand down each stone. In time I think they will succeed. The leather straps appear to be of good quality. Green polishing paste does not penetrate the skin well. But thanks to other reviewers, I found that a small amount of oil helps break down the formulation and help skin absorb it.
