I bought this unit to attach to my RV's Batwing TV antenna for easier connection to WIFI hotspots. I also have a Ubiquiti M2 Bullet and 18dbi Omni for the 2.4GHz band and a good friend encouraged me to also get 5GHz for congested places like RV sites. I like the directionality, it's really effective for pulling up weak stations. I was surprised to see how many stations were within blocks of my house when I installed them at home. I won't be traveling for a few months but I'm sure it will help if needed. This is not a simplified consumer product. I've been involved with networking for decades, so this was pretty easy for me, but probably be prepared to learn if you've never worked with Ubiquiti. It's not bad, just an uncoated technique. I almost bought a parabolic reflector model but wasn't sure I could fit it well in my situation. It's a very good combination of compactness and efficiency, and also very functional and flexible, like all Ubiquiti products I've come across.
