Much better than expected at this price

This is a VERY good lamp, especially for the price. The stand and poles are beautifully crafted shiny silver metal. Racks are easily twisted and ideally approach each other. Both the cable and the switch appear to be of good quality and the switch clicks for sure. The only cheap part is a plastic lamp, but that's bearable and you can probably find a nice replacement at any antique store. My use for this lamp is unusual. My wife's sewing workshop has an ordinary globe that isn't bright enough to illuminate her delicate work. The room has a white ceiling, so I decided to try this flashlight, but with a very powerful bulb, which is a StonePoint GGL-50 4400 lumen spotlight. Despite its 4,400 lumens of light (the equivalent of a 275W incandescent bulb), it only uses 55W, so she can use it with a steam iron in a room with a 15 amp circuit. The lamp comes with its own built-in shroud that fits into the floor lamp fixture. Together they are an amazing solution to their lighting problems. Sometimes I just walk in and turn on the light because I can't believe how good it is.
