As another reviewer said, this is a ph/tds meter, not a ph/ec meter. It doesn't bother me, but due to an inaccurate item description, there is still a star deduction. I needed a new pH meter. This one is cheap and fairly accurate. Out of the box it was at least 0.2. After calibration it is flat at 6.86 and within 0.1 at 9.18 and 4.01. It's as good as they claimed and more than enough for me. The TDS meter has the 442 scale, not the most common NaCl scale. If you use a TDS meter, keep this in mind as your readings are on a different scale than most people's. However, it is accurate to the scale it uses. I will update this review if she dies on mine as I was a little bothered by another reviewer who said she died after a month. However, I will say that it is waterproof if everything is screwed up properly. Since the last (unknown number of all) ph pens I had were ruined by the fact that I dropped them in a drink, I think this one might work.
