This product works as advertised. He attaches our trailer hitch to the camper and our car to the trailer hitch. All the keys supplied were identical so I have 6 keys so it's very handy to have one key on the tractor keychain and on the camper keychain and still have 4 spare keys. I see you're in a hurry. and without checking that the bolt and lock are securely fastened together, you might assume that you would end up losing the lock. However, it is not difficult to ensure that the lock is securely attached to the latch. We have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and we don't have a Blue Ox base plate, we have a Currie Enterprises hitch mounting plate. These locks worked great. If you have a Blue Ox hitch feel free to add these locks for peace of mind. I'm sure other products work as well, I wanted to keep them in the family. I would recommend them to everyone. They might even work well with a non-Blue Ox hitch.
