For real? "That doesn't look like a cold stone! " Is that your problem?

Okay, sorry for the slightly hostile name, although I meant more ironically. But I read a lot of reviews complaining that the protein shake didn't taste like cold stone. ROFLMAO Come on! The shake also doesn't contain the 1,500 calories of colon-expanding fats and sugars. I ordered this because, despite my skepticism, my workout buddy demanded that I stop and try it. So he handed me a couple of scoops in a sachet and rolled his eyes at my almost twenty year devotion to muscle milk powder. Around the year 2000, when I discovered Muscle Milk, I stopped using everything. I've turned down EAS products, Met-RX (is it still in production?), all the various GNC and Vitamin Shoppe offerings, and anything else you can think of. Muscle Milk is truly an amazing product. But when I first tried Cold Stone (the servings he gave me was Birthday Cake Remix) I immediately ordered a 40 serving bottle and got lucky as it sold for $40. Those who. For my use, it's actually 30 servings, not 44. Mainly because I've found the optimal amount to be around 1 1/2 scoops. A spoon is not enough for me. That means a full meal made while dieting costs me about $1.50. ). Now I'm going to warn you all about the Atkins diet. This smoothie is way too high in carbs to get into ketosis easily. I can, but just because I work so hard it gives me a safety net. I still have occasional trouble maintaining higher levels of ketosis with both Cold Stone and Muscle Milk, but I really don't care. As long as I'm losing fat, it doesn't matter if the dipsticks turn dark purple when checking my ketones. Trace or small works just as well for me. While these shakes and muscle milks are a bit high in carbs, they are not high in sugar at all. So it should still work well for most people who train hard, even on a ketogenic diet. The caveat, however, is that you should be aware that it may take longer to get into ketosis with these types of shakes. In terms of taste, mixability (laughs, I don't know a word), texture and nutritional value, Cold Stone is every bit as good as Muscle Milk. Maybe even a little better, but I still love both brands for what they're worth. But can we PLEASE, for heaven's sake, stop expecting that just because there's an ice cream shop label on the box, it means it's like drinking a giant 2,000-calorie Carvel shake? Isn't it ridiculous to expect a shake that's mostly protein powder? If you want ice cream, then have a cheat day and eat a giant 2500-calorie banana boat at a real Coldstone, maybe Carvel. , or maybe one of those old-fashioned, luncheonette-style patisseries that make mountain sundaes. Here in New York we have a store called Eddie's Sweet Shop in Forest Hills. This is a 110-year-old ice cream shop that makes ice cream so big their flagship dish, Banana Royal with an Extra Scoop, is said to have 4,000 calories! I'm not joking. I've only included the photos to tease you as I'm currently low on carbs and misery loves company. But my cheat day is coming, so I Eddie, BEWARE! :) How I use it for maximum flavor: 1. 1 1/2 scoops for added flavor and protein2. Artificial sweetener (not a fan, but it adds flavor so I'm reluctant to take any health risks)3. ONLY about 6 ounces of water (listen to me on that part)4. Two tablespoons of cream. **Please note this applies to ketogenic diets ONLY. If you're on a high-carb diet, low-fat milk or almond milk is really good. Before proceeding, first mix the water, powder, sweetener, and cream for a few seconds to blend them together. The consistency will be like thick, pasty, sickeningly sweet, concentrated cake batter because you didn't use enough water to make your smoothie! Now stop the mixer and add a full rack of ice cubes. About 12 cubes. 8 if you have a large dice stand.6. Blend on smoothie mode until ice is smooth and unbreakable. You may need to add some water while the mixer is spinning, but not always. Note. I used to be a cruise ship bartender and made a lot of frozen ice cream drinks. I also had a smoothie panini shop a while ago, so I'm VERY GOOD at making frozen drinks. To make it as similar as possible to an ice cream shake, here's what you need to remember: when blending, use a good blender and remove this little glass top from the round lid after it starts to sling, but not from the whole. Lid to avoid mess. When you're looking at a blended mix, you want to see what I can only describe as a small hole in the middle of the mix when the mixer spins. If you don't see any "holes" at all, it's because you have too much ice and the blender can't crush it completely, your blender may need a new blade, or you need a better blender. However, it's possible that you used too much ice, so just SLOWLY add more water until you see this "hole" in the center and it looks completely smooth, not completely covered in ice. Her own sweet spot, but I find about 12 ice cubes perfect and sometimes I need to add an ounce or two of water while the mixer is spinning. Drink it now before it melts! I will be ordering this again and my next foray into this will be to try a different flavor. Any recommendations? :)
