Review on Itali Passio® Stainless Julienne Vegetable by Steven Hanson

which failed miserably due to poor design, I decided to give away this Julienne knife.

After trying the Spiralizer which failed miserably due to the poor design I decided to give this vegetable/julienne cutter a shot. I chose this one because it got great reviews and I'm glad I did! This tool arrived quickly and in good condition. It is simply packed in a plastic bag and a small box. Pulling it out I was pleased to see how shiny it is, with blades tipping back and forth like a razor. He has a nice Wright, solid but not heavy. There are two blades, one lightly serrated for cleaning and the other with tiny mini-blades spaced perpendicularly to the main blade for slicing vegetables. After a quick wash, I pulled out a carrot and got to work. The movement is a little different than my regular peeler, where the blade is parallel to the handle you're using, pushing it away from you. This knife is used by drawing it towards you and although it is very sharp it also seems very safe. There was no risk of the blade slipping and hitting a finger. It only took a few seconds to peel the carrots, so I started slicing them up so I could have "carrot noodles" in my miso soup. I was very surprised at how easy it was. I have a decent mandolin cut that also cuts into strips, but it takes some effort and some risk to the knuckles. This cleaner got the job done with minimal effort and again with no risk to my fingers. If the blades stay sharp, this thing will definitely be a winner! At this price I probably wouldn't even mind changing it every few years if the blades last at least that long.
