I run 3 offices each with about 10 network/VOIP users and when I recently added cameras to my house and reinstalled my sound system in my closet I was looking for a device that would make it easier would my job. I originally bought one of the cheap cable testers but it didn't even last a month. So I was looking for a "more serious" tool and came across this set. The single best feature that helped me choose was the ability to determine the length of the cable, which took the guesswork out of which end of the cable had a bad connection (due to a bad perforation or break). Also, it's great to be able to check the voltage from the POE switch, check the remaining cable length from the reel (termination required), check the network and RG6 cables. The handy tone generator works well built into other similar devices. One problem I had was updating the firmware on the device. As I found out the Commander can come with two different hardware versions A or B which were not mentioned anywhere on the firmware update page so I ended up with a non working unit. I contacted Klein Tools and they offered me a replacement which was sent to a local dealer. The whole process took some time but overall I'm very happy with the results and the device itself and would recommend it to anyone who supports IP and voice networks. Great tool and an even better company behind it!
