Review on R3 Promo Pocket Classic Clamp Pack by Choice Maynard

This is my first time owning a pocket hole gauge and I just love what this thing can do. I highly recommend using this product with the Kreg Face Clamp as it makes working with it much quicker and easier. The device is actually attached to the clamp. So by inserting a few pockets into the workpiece, you can quickly clamp, drill and move on to the next spot. I have just used this product on a project where I built 4 drawers from scratch which I installed with drawers in an end kitchen cabinet (see image). I used 12 countersunk screws to hold each drawer together - 3 on each long side and 1 on each short side from the bottom of the drawer and 1 on each end of the long sides to press them firmly against the short sides. The screw pockets that hold the sides together are visible in the attached image. The device is small and versatile enough that I was able to add bags to my stash even when partially assembled. This is a great product and in my opinion a much better solution for joining wood than nails and wood glue. Firstly, you can easily detach the connection by removing the screws, which isn't really possible when using nails/glue. Also, pocket holes with quality screws create a much stronger connection in my personal experience. The kit seems to be holding up well. I've made over 80 holes in different woods so far and the pilot bit still feels sharp. The conductor itself continues to function properly and the metal bushings inside do not appear to be wearing out.
